Michalene Mills - Hancock County Teacher of the Year

     
 

Hancock County Schools is pleased to recognize Michalene Mills as  Hancock County Schools Teacher of the Year 2012.   Michalene is a National Board Certified  third grade teacher at Liberty Elementary.  In addition, she has a Masters Degree in Educational  Leadership, was an active participant in the Benedum RESA 6 principal’s grant  when she was at Weirton Heights Elementary, was chosen to showcase a lesson integrating technology and math for Sen. Jay Rockefeller, and has received a mini-grant from Wal-Mart

 

Michalene, along with other school Teacher of the Year nominees, was honored at a recent board of education meeting and at  Liberty Elementary.  We wish her luck in state competition.

 

“Teaching is all about making a difference in a child’s life.  As a teacher it is  my responsibility to understand where each child is academically, socially, and emotionally when they enter my door each fall and then take them beyond that place by the end of the school year
